What is your return/exchange policy?

  • In the rare event that you are unhappy with your purchase, refunds/exchanges will be issued to purchases made within 7 days of receipt.

  • Credit for your returned item(s) will be refunded back to your account in the same form of payment used to purchase the item(s). You should receive an email confirming the completion of return processing.

How do I return/exchange an item?

  • To return or exchange your item(s) by mail, please follow these instructions:

  1. Email to share your concerns and request a refund.

  2. A shipping label will be printed and sent to you.

  3. Securely pack your merchandise  packing slip and affix the return label to your package. Please try to use the original shipping box and materials.

  4. Mail your return package at any US Postal Service office or participating location.

How do I track my order?

  • You will receive an email notification when your purchase has been shipped, including a tracking number from the courier (United States Postal Service) for your shipment. Please go to and enter the tracking number to receive the most up-to-date information on the status of your delivery.


Do you charge sales tax on orders?

  • Yes. For orders that are placed within the United States, a sales tax of 8.875% is required by the Department of Taxation and Finance of New York.

  • For all orders placed outside of the United States, no sales tax is charged.


How much does it cost to ship in the US?

  • There is a flat rate shipping costs of $8 for all orders within the United States.


Do you provide international delivery?

  • Yes. We do provide international delivery. Shipping costs vary depending on the minimum amount of your purchase. For  USPS Priority Mail International, orders under $150 are charged $35 for shipping. Orders over $150 are $25 for shipping. For USPS Priority Mail Express International, orders under $150 are $50 for shipping. Orders over $150 are $40 for shipping.


Is there a handling fee?

  • Yes. There is a handling fee of $10 for all international orders outside of the US.




I see small irregularities in my product. What does that mean?

  • Our products are handmade using resources local to each country and region. Each artisan does his or her very best to craft pieces with quality and care. In some instances small discrepancies or irregularities may be found on products. 


How should I keep my product clean?

  • For optimal wear keep your leather goods in a separate space so they do not rub up against your other products.

  • It is best to clean leather with a soft cloth. Using a small dab of leather cleaner on the soft cloth is also a great way to keep your product clean and polished. 

  • It is best to clean wax print textiles with a soft cloth. In the event of a stain, use a small dab of stain remover on your cloth and apply it to the affected area.

  • You can also take your handbag to your neighborhood dry cleaners that offers handbags and leather cleaning services.

Who makes your products?

  • Our products are handmade by local artisans and tailors in Accra, Ghana in West Africa. We also work with artisans from Senegal to handcraft our accessories.

What kind of textiles do you use?

  • We use wax print fabrics printed by Printex, Ghana Textiles Printing (GTP) and Woodin - three of the premiere textile brands located in Ghana. It is our ultimate goal to use fabrics solely printed locally in Ghana. 

  • We also use 100% genuine leather from Accra, and the Bolgatanga region in Northern Ghana.


Do you repair broken items?

  • If the handbag or accessory proves to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use anytime within the first month, we will repair or replace the item free of charge with the same or comparable product (proof of purchase required). Defective handbags or accessories will not be returned to the customer. Please note that the customer is responsible for any costs associated with shipping the defective product to us for repair or replacement.

Do you offer a warranty?

  • Subject to applicable conditions and exclusions, handbags and accessories are protected from the original date of purchase by a one-month limited warranty (proof of purchase required).

WHAT IS YOUR ACCENT? retains this additional PII, if provided, and uses it to help us better understand and respond to the collective feedback we receive.
